Here are just a sample of the Tenor singers we have and what they say about being in our Choir! They may be lady tenors but they all have amazing voices!

“I’ve always had a love of music but had considered choirs as “not for me”. So when the invite to join came along, I plucked up the courage – “why not”. What I didn’t expect was how friendly and welcoming everyone was and how quickly I settled in. Within 3 weeks, I was confidently singing parts – and performing at my first wedding! That was 3½ years ago. Best moments – Cecelia’s reaction when the choir spontaneously bursts into song, goose bumps when a harmony suddenly comes together and the never ending genuine love and support from within the group through good and bad times.”

“Gospel singing directed by “The Real Deal” CeCelia, with a dollop of laughter on top – what more could a girl ask for on a Thursday night?
We work hard, we enjoy what we do – a friendly, fun, supportive, welcoming group of people with one big thing in common. We love how great singing feels!”

“Music is one of the greatest gifts that this world has received. It connects the hearts in the most intimate way allowing us to express what is within on the deepest level of our existence. It evokes all kinds of emotions, thus it takes us on the journey in which we give and we receive – it is a great power to impact communities, bring joy and hope to one another. For that reason singing with Chelmsford Community Gospel Choir has always been an honour and privilege for me”.

“The last time I sang was at school – over 20 years ago now. I loved being part of the group, part of the complete sound, filling in the harmonies in the alto section. It was a Catholic school, so we sang big, choral, religious pieces. Faith didn’t remain with me, but the love of music did, so a part of me has always wanted to join a choir again…. Then I came across Chelmsford Gospel Choir during the Essex One World Festival in 2010. The choir held open rehearsals for anyone to join in. I was hooked. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, the choir director is amazing and our sound is stunning. However tired I am on a Thursday evening, I leave our rehearsal feeling relaxed, happy and energized.”
