The Bass section comprises of just a few good men. But they have great fun being part of such a lively Choir.
"With my influences including Nina Simone, London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC) and The Housemartins I was clearly drawn to a gospel choir.
My journey of gospel performance began when I was fortunate enough to be able to sign up for a series of LCGC workshops in the mid-noughties. This cumulated in a wonderful evening of gospel singing in a church in Islington with members of LCGC.
Inspired by this experience I was even more fortunate to find via work colleagues Gospel Choirs in South and North London to practice and perform with.
My voyage continued when I discovered CCGC, much closer to home, and another wonderful Gospel Choir and Music Director.
I love the creative process of practicing a new set or song, gaining confidence as a team as we practice together and support one another, through to the butterflies and energy of a public performance.
In particular I love CCGC being invited by couples to sing and share in their special day - their Wedding day. These performances are very special...Happy days."
"At first I was apprehensive about joining a Choir and whether or not I would good enough, but the Choir have been very welcoming and a huge encouragement to me! The standards are high but there is a place for everyone. Celia, is a brilliant leader and brings out the best in all of us. The harmonies are fantastic and you just feel your body resonating when it all comes together. I love being part of it all, and whilst working hard to perfect the pieces, we do all have loads of fun and laugh a lot."
